Anna Maria City Commission Reviews 2026 Budget Drafts

Anna Maria city officials held budget workshops throughout August 2026 to prepare the city's financial plan for the upcoming fiscal year. Department directors, the city treasurer, the mayor, and the City Commission collaborated to balance community needs with available resources.

The city's annual budget guides public funds for services, infrastructure, emergency preparedness, and community investments. Budget decisions aim to maintain service levels while planning for the city's future.

The budget process began in April with a financial review, followed by department requests in May and a mayoral review in June. August workshops followed the July budget kickoff. The City Commission held regular meetings on August 13 and August 27, both at 10 a.m. The August 27 meeting followed a budget workshop.

Key workshops in August included a session on citywide expenses on August 6 at 10 a.m. Two workshops occurred on August 11: one at 10 a.m. for capital projects and another at 1 p.m. to discuss draft parking plans.

Other August board meetings included a Special Magistrate meeting on August 18 at 9 a.m., and Planning and Zoning meetings on August 19 and August 26, both at 9 a.m.
