Planned Parenthood Clinics in Two States to Offer Advance Supply of Abortion Pills
Planned Parenthood clinics in Washington state and Hawaii will begin offering patients a supply of mifepristone and misoprostol to keep on hand. These medications are used to medically terminate pregnancies.
Patients can obtain the pills during a regular consultation with a Planned Parenthood health care provider. If the patient later experiences an unwanted pregnancy, they can then use the medication without requiring an immediate appointment.
Planned Parenthood representatives stated the new service aims to improve access to reproductive healthcare. The organization has not yet released details about cost or specific eligibility requirements.
