Mrs. Margaret Alice Sorrell, age 93, a resident of the Cedar Creek area of Bardstown, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026.Margaret was born November 25, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter to the late Naum Phillips and Evelyn Grace Goans Phillips.She and her husband, Everett W. Sorrell, were married September 19, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. She was employed as a secretary by the Pettibone Mulliken Corporation in Chicago for 24 years before retiring and moving from Cicero, Illinois to Bardstown.Upon moving to Bardstown, she became a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church in 1979 where she served in a number of positions. She served as church clerk for 16 years and served on the Constitution and By-Laws committee. At one time, she was recognized for having 14 years of perfect attendance in Sunday school and church.Margaret’s hobby was family genealogy where she prepared family history books for her family during Christmas of 2020.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Naum Phillips and Evelyn Grace Goans Phillips, her husband of 26 years, Everett W. Sorrell, two sons, Richard Lyle Sorrell and David Ross Sorrell, a granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Hill and a sister, Alberta Curtin.Survivors include her daughter, Karen Jean Sorrell (Tony) Hill, two granddaughters, Christina Rene’ (Michael Scott) Greenwell and Janice Lynn Hill, four great grandchildren, Anderson Scott Greenwell, London Jane Greenwell, Harlyn Reed Greenwell and Lillia Rosslynn Hill and a great granddaughter due in September.Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Alice Sorrell will be 11:00 am Friday, May 22, 2026 at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Bro. Todd Davis will officiate. Interment will be in The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm. Additional visitation will be Friday at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church from 9:00 am until time of the funeral service. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Randy Misner

Randy Lynn Misner, 71, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Clinton House in Frankfort. He was born on July 9, 1954 in Lafayette to the late Glenn Leroy and Vella Bee (Allen) Misner.After graduating from Delphi High School, Randy spent several years working as a (QMA) Medical Technician at Regency Place of Lafayette. In his free time, he enjoyed taking long walks, visiting with family and friends, watching movies, and taking trips with our mother. He was a devoted caregiver for our mother when she had a major illness. Obituary: Patrick Goodman; Celebration of Life Planned

Patrick P. Goodman, 71, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus in West Lafayette. He was born on December 2, 1954 in Lafayette to the late Gene and Betty (Wright) Goodman.Patrick was a graduate of Benton Central High School, and later enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1975-1978. Patrick spent many years working as an offset pressman for Lafayette Printing and Central Printing. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fowler American Legion Post 57, where he served one year as Commander. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing Euchre, a bit of golf and loved telling a good inappropriate joke in his heyday.Patrick is survived by his children, Nathan (Megan) Goodman, Adam Goodman, and Shannon Goodman; brothers, Greg Goodman, Gary Goodman, and John Goodman; sisters, Deb Deno, Marlys Vanderwall, and Robin Nunally; and grandchildren, Olivia and Eva Fose, Miles and Emmy Goodman.In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his brothers, Randy Goodman (infant), Frank Goodman, and Mike Goodman.A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fowler American Legion - Post 57, 400 E 5th St., on June 13 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Obituary: Lester McKinzie

Lester Allen McKinzie, 91, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home.Lester was born on May 30, 1934, to the late Richard and Edith (Hurt) McKinzie. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded three bronze stars.On November 3, 1956, he married the love of his life, Edna Sparger. They were married for 56 years before her passing on October 23, 2013.Lester was a lifelong member of both the American Legion Post 164 in Boynton Beach, FL, and the VFW Post 1154 in Lafayette, IN. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Lester was always willing to lend a hand to help those in need. He was deeply devoted to not only his work but also his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.Surviving are his children: Patricia (Marvin) Dennison, Colleen “Coke” Romeril and Robert “J” (Rene) McKinzie; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Along with his wife, Edna, he is preceded in passing by his daughter, Beth Bowers, son, Clifford McKinzie and his parents.Share memories and condolences online at www.simplicity-funeralcare.com

Art in the Park festivals showcase local and regional recognized fine arts and crafts, music from local talent, a variety of foods from various vendors, and fun activities, such as games and crafts for the kids. It’s a unique art experience for the entire family!The Art in the Park festivals showcase fine arts such as watercolor, photography, pottery, ceramics, wood, jewelry, metal, textiles, and much more. Art pieces are sold by local and regional vendors.  Art in the Park is a family-friendly event, free to attend, and open to the public.
