A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for George County, effective immediately as of October 9 at 6:53 AM CDT, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL. This warning is in effect until 3:00 PM UTC today.

Residents in Lucedale and surrounding areas should complete all preparations to protect property as soon as possible and move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin. Peak wind forecasts are 20-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Impacts could include damage to sheds and mobile homes, broken tree limbs, some downed trees, and scattered power outages. Hazardous driving conditions are expected, especially on elevated roadways.

While storm surge and tornadoes are not expected, moderate flooding rain is a significant concern. Around 1 inch of rainfall is expected, which may lead to significant impacts including localized flooding prompting evacuations and rescues, swollen rivers, and flooded roads.
