A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Lucedale, George County, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 4:07 AM CDT. This warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM CDT today.

Residents in Lucedale should plan for hazardous winds of equivalent tropical storm force. Peak winds are forecast to be 20-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, posing a potential for winds of 39 to 57 mph. All remaining efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Potential impacts include damage to lightweight structures, broken tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Hazardous driving conditions are possible on bridges and elevated roadways.

Around 1 inch of rainfall is expected, with a potential for moderate flooding. Emergency plans should include the possibility of moderate flooding from heavy rain, which may prompt evacuations and rescues. Heed any flood watches and warnings. Rivers and small streams may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures in low-lying areas, making some streets impassable. Little to no storm surge or tornado threat is expected.
