Residents of Lowndes County, particularly those in Fort Deposit and Hayneville, need to take immediate action as a Tropical Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, effective from October 9 at 1:19 AM CDT until 9:30 AM CDT. This warning indicates severe conditions are expected.
Tropical Storm force winds of 35-45 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph, are forecast from this evening until Saturday morning. Property protection efforts should be completed as soon as possible.
