A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for central and southwest Nebraska until 11 AM CDT today, September 27, 2026, with drivers urged to slow down and use headlights due to low visibility.
Drivers in portions of central, north-central, and southwest Nebraska are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain extra following distance due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in North Platte, NE.
The advisory is effective immediately, September 27, 2026, until 11:00 AM CDT /10:00 AM MDT/ this morning. Affected areas include Keya Paha, Boyd, Brown, Rock, Holt, Blaine, Loup, Garfield, Wheeler, Custer, Keith, Lincoln, Hayes, and Frontier counties.
Visibility in these areas is reduced to between one-quarter and one-half mile due to dense fog. This significantly low visibility can create hazardous driving conditions.
The NWS strongly urges motorists to exercise extreme caution while traveling through these affected regions during the advisory period.
