Drive with Caution: Dense Fog Advisory for Ventura, Malibu Coasts
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for Ventura County Beaches and the Malibu Coast until 10 AM PDT, with hazardous driving conditions expected due to low visibility, according to the National Weather Service.
Ventura County Beaches and the Malibu Coast are currently under a Dense Fog Advisory until 10:00 AM PDT today, October 2. The National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard CA issued the advisory at 5:38 AM PDT, warning of visibility reduced to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog.
Drivers in these areas are urged to exercise extreme caution. If you are driving, slow down, use your headlights, and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles. Reduced visibility can make driving conditions hazardous.
Additionally, an Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for these same areas from 10:00 AM PDT today until 8:00 PM PDT Thursday. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 90 degrees along the coast and 105 degrees in the valleys. The NWS advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.
This advisory and warning are issued by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA.
