Residents and visitors along the Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches are advised to take immediate precautions due to a Beach Hazards Statement and Coastal Flood Advisory issued by the National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA. These conditions are expected to bring dangerous rip currents, elevated surf, and minor to moderate coastal flooding.

The Beach Hazards Statement is in effect from October 11 at 9:02 PM PDT through Tuesday afternoon, October 13 at 5:00 PM PDT. The Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 2 PM PDT on Tuesday, October 13.

During this period, minor to moderate flooding of sea water is likely around high tide at low-lying beach and harbor areas. Enhanced beach erosion is possible. High tides are expected to peak around 7.1 to 7.3 feet on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Actionable Information: If you are in flood-prone areas, take necessary actions to protect your property. Do NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Avoid rock jetties, as they can be deadly in these conditions.
