Longboat Key DRC to Review New Library Plans - June 25

The Longboat Key Development Review Committee will discuss plans for a new library project in the Town Center. The meeting is scheduled for June 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall Antechambers, 501 Bay Isles Road.

Sarasota County submitted the proposal for a Planned Unit Development Amendment, Outline Development Plan Amendment, and Final Site Development Plan Approval. The project calls for constructing a new library at 600 Bay Isles Road.

Brad Gaubatz, Sarasota County Government's Facilities/Parks Manager III, is the agent for the applicant. Elma Glisson, Planning Manager for the Town of Longboat Key, will present the item.

The public may attend and observe. No public participation will occur during the discussion. The agenda notes that item scheduling is based on application status and may change due to comments between the applicant and Town staff.

The Development Review Committee reviews development proposals to ensure compliance with town planning and zoning regulations. The meeting offers residents insight into the proposed library project before any final decisions.
