A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Suwannee County due to a strong thunderstorm moving northeast at 35 mph. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jacksonville, FL, reports that at 11:34 PM EDT, radar indicated this storm was located over Mayo.
Residents should be aware of potential wind gusts around 40 mph. These gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured outdoor objects. If you are outdoors, immediately seek shelter inside a sturdy building.
The affected locations include Luraville, Mcalpin, and Newburn. The NWS also warns of torrential rainfall with this storm, which may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
