Julianne McMakin Mullinix passed away on June 3, 2026, after a long-fought battle with cancer. Julianne was known by many names—Julie, Julia, and Juju. Julianne was born on August 5, 1963. She graduated from Bryan Station High School.After high school, she spent many years dedicated to her family’s McDonald’s restaurants. She remained faithful to McDonald’s until her last day.Although Julianne did not have children of her own, her love for children ran deep. She started babysitting over 30 years ago and continued until the summer of 2025. She was the best babysitter—just ask any of her kids!She had a true love for the country. She loved Keeneland and watching the horses race. Especially her dad’s horses. She also enjoyed the beach, and summer vacation was something she looked forward to every year.She was a true gem. To know her was to love her.Julianne is survived by her amazing, loving, and devoted father and stepmother, William Nelson McMakin and Elsie Steele McMakin of Lexington. Also survived by her step brother Lance Long, his wife Denise Long, and their daughters Emma and Larissa Long of Lexington.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at W. R. Milward Funeral Home – Broadway. A private graveside service for close friends and family will follow at 1:30 p.m. at The Lexington Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her mother, Jimmie; her two brothers, Michael and Marty; as well as her nephew, who preceded her in death.Contributions may be made in her honor to Ronald McDonald House Lexington P.O.
