Bennie Ray McWain Jr, 57 of Frankfort, KY, passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2026. He was a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, and his presence will be deeply missed.Bennie was born in Charleston, WV on March 7th, 1969 to Bennie Ray McWain Sr and Carol Sue McWain (Duncan). Bennie served the Kentucky General Assembly as a dedicated member of the Legislative Research Commission for nearly thirty years,during which time he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his warmth, integrity, and professionalism. He dedicated his life to his family, his passions for music, travel, and the beach. His humor, laughter, and loving spirit brightened the lives of all who knew him.Bennie is survived by his wife of nearly twenty-six years, Susan Best McWain of Frankfort, KY; his sisters Kelley McWain Stapleton (Jeff Moberly) of Harrodsburg, KY and Natalie McWain of Paris, KY; his niece Emily McWain of Lexington, KY; his nephew Eric Conner of Lexington, KY; and numerous beloved Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Bennie Sr and Carol Sue.A celebration of Bennie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th, 2026 at Lexington First Church of God, 505 Kingston Rd Lexington, KY. The family invites all who knew him to attend and share their favorite memories.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bennie's memory to Jessamine County Animal Care and Control.
