A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Fergus County below 4500 feet, effective immediately until Monday, October 12, at 6:00 AM MDT. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Great Falls, MT, warns of severe conditions, including heavy, wet snow and difficult travel.

Residents should prepare for additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Travel is expected to be very difficult, and gusty winds combined with the heavy snow could lead to fallen tree branches and isolated power outages.

If travel is essential, carry an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle. For the latest road conditions, dial 511. Snowfall amounts will vary between grassy surfaces and roadways, particularly at lower elevations, with accumulations on non-grassy surfaces primarily occurring between the evening and late morning hours.
