A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Leon County, including Tallahassee, Woodville, and Bradfordville, effective immediately. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL issued the warning on October 10 at 2:07 AM EDT. Residents are urged to act now to complete preparations before hazardous wind, potential flooding, and tornadoes arrive.
Wind speeds are forecast at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes is possible. Expect broken tree limbs, a few snapped or uprooted trees, and scattered power outages. Efforts to protect property should be underway.
A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 1 inch of rain expected. Major rainfall flooding is possible, which may prompt evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries could overflow, and many structures may experience flooding. Heed any flood watches and warnings; failure to take action could result in serious injury or loss of life.
A Tornado Watch is also in effect. Several tornadoes are possible, with a few potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should prepare to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings; if a warning is issued, shelter quickly. This Tropical Storm Warning expires on October 10, 2026, at 10:15 AM UTC.
