The course will be divided into three sections: Airway Management, Cardiac Arrest, and Skills Station. Attendees will be required to participate in all sections to receive a course completion certificate. Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: List the proper steps to assess a patient using the ABC approach Describe appropriate methods to open a patient’s airway Demonstrate proper use of a bag-valve-mask Demonstrate proper use of an oropharyngeal airway Describe the signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest Explain how to identify the need for CPR Perform effective chest compressions on a manikin Discuss the importance of early defibrillation Continuing Education Information Nurses: MedStar Health is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
