Franklin Seeks Bids for Three-Year Waste Collection Contract

The City of Franklin is accepting sealed bids for a three-year contract to collect and dispose of residential trash, recycling and yard waste beginning October 1, 2026.

Bidders must submit sealed envelopes marked "City of Franklin Refuse Collection Bid" by 1 p.m. May 20, 2026, at Franklin Municipal Building, 1 Benjamin Franklin Way. The contract covers collection from residences and city-owned facilities.

Interested companies can obtain bid packets at the municipal building for a $25 nonrefundable fee, or request mailed packets for an additional $25. Call (937) 746-9921 with questions.

Ohio law requires bidders to submit either a bid bond for the full bid amount or a cashier's or certified check payable to the City of Franklin for at least 10 percent of the bid amount. Bidders must enclose the bid guarantee with their sealed proposal.

Bidders will submit pricing on a per-year basis for the three-year period. The city will award the contract to the lowest and best bidder and reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

The current contract expires September 30, 2026. The new contract runs through September 30, 2029.
