A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Plymouth and Sioux counties in Iowa expired at 8:15 PM CDT on October 8, 2026, as the storm weakened, though small hail remains possible.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Plymouth and Sioux counties in Iowa has expired as of 8:15 PM CDT on October 8, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) Sioux Falls SD reported that the storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
While the immediate threat has passed, the NWS advises that small hail is still possible with this thunderstorm.
Residents are encouraged to report any severe weather observations to their nearest law enforcement agency. These agencies will forward the reports to the National Weather Service office.
