A Wind Advisory is in effect for Death Valley National Park and parts of Nevada until Monday, October 12, at 5:00 AM PDT, with gusts up to 55 mph expected; residents should secure outdoor objects and use caution while driving.
A Wind Advisory has been issued for Death Valley National Park in California, and Esmeralda and Central Nye County, and Western Clark and Southern Nye County in Nevada. The National Weather Service (NWS) Las Vegas NV issued this advisory today, October 10, at 12:58 PM PDT, effective until Monday, October 12, at 5:00 AM PDT.
Residents in the affected areas should immediately secure any unsecured outdoor objects. High-profile vehicle drivers are advised to use extra caution due to expected south winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 55 mph.
These strong winds may make driving difficult and could blow down tree limbs. A few power outages are also a possibility. The NWS advises all community members to take necessary precautions during this period.
