Residents in East Platte County, Goshen County, South Laramie Range Foothills, Central Laramie County, and East Laramie County are advised to seek shelter indoors as gusty showers producing winds of 50 to 55 mph are moving through the area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne, WY, issued a Special Weather Statement today, October 10, at 2:02 PM MDT. Doppler radar indicates these showers are tracking northeast at 35 mph, extending from 9 miles south of Chugwater to near Whitaker.

These strong winds could potentially knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects. The statement is effective until 2:45 PM MDT today, October 10. Locations specifically impacted include Whitaker, Meriden Rest Area, Gun Barrel, and Hawk Springs. If you are outdoors, consider moving inside a sturdy building until the threat passes.
