Sarasota County Split Between Congressional Districts 16, 17

Staff Writer

Congressional Map Split Sarasota County Between Two Districts

About 48,000 Sarasota County voters will move to a new congressional district following Gov. Ron DeSantis's signing of HB 1D.

Starting with the August 18 Primary Election, Sarasota County splits between Congressional Districts 16 and 17, roughly along the I-75 corridor. The county was unified in District 17 until the redistricting.

The Sarasota County elections office will update voter records and mail new voter information cards before the primary. Other voting districts, including state Senate and House, county commission, and school board, remain unchanged.

Voters with questions can call the elections office at 941-861-8619.
