Lakeland Regional Health has expanded its surgical capabilities on the Medical Center campus with the addition of two new hybrid operating rooms and two oversized surgical suites designed for robotic surgery. The $14.6 million expansion also includes a new post-anesthesia care unit. The facilities opened this week.
These additions enhance the hospital's capacity for complex procedures. As the region's leader in cardiac and vascular care, Lakeland Regional Health aims to provide advanced treatment options for patients requiring specialized surgical interventions, bringing world-class care closer to home for Polk County residents.
The hybrid operating rooms feature advanced imaging technology integrated into the surgical suite. This allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with enhanced precision and real-time visualization. The new oversized suites are designed to support robotic surgery, offering greater flexibility and space.
The dedicated post-anesthesia care unit aims to improve patient recovery and care coordination for families across Lakeland and beyond.
