Lakeland City Commission: Public Hearing on Water Shortage Ordinance

The Lakeland City Commission will consider a new ordinance addressing water conservation measures during a public hearing Monday, October 5, 2026, at 9 a.m. The meeting will take place in the City Commission Chamber at City Hall.

The proposed ordinance, titled "Proposed 26-032," responds to a Phase 3 water shortage declared by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Residents can review the ordinance text at the City Attorney's Office in City Hall.

The commission encourages all interested individuals to attend the hearing to voice their opinions. Those planning to appeal any commission decision must secure a verbatim record of the proceedings.
