Today, many things are recyclable. But not all recyclable items are accepted by the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County’s (SWA’s) dual-stream recycling program. We’ll help you learn what you can and should recycle every day at home, work, school and play.

Today, many things are recyclable. But not all recyclable items are accepted by the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County’s (SWA’s) dual-stream recycling program. We’ll help you learn what you can and should recycle every day at home, work, school and play. With kids returning to the classroom, or if you’re just tidying up your home office, now is the perfect time to recycle your clean, dry office and school paper. From lined notebook paper to printer paper, and even sticky notes, these items belong in your yellow recycling bin. In 2025, Palm Beach County residents recycled more than 28,500 tons of mixed paper. If you’ve been saving up your office and school paper and have more than fits into your yellow recycling bin, you have options: • Take it to one of the more than 250 yellow community cardboard dumpsters stationed throughout our county. Find your nearest yellow community cardboard dumpster. • Take it to one of seven SWA Home Chemical & Recycling Centers (HCRCs). Here are SWA’s seven HCRC locations from north county to south county: o Jupiter North County Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center 14185 Military Trail (SWA Road) in Jupiter Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. o West Palm Beach Home Chemical & Recycling Center 6161 N. Jog Road in West Palm Beach Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. o Belle Glade Glades Regional Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center 1701 State Road 15 in Belle Glade Monday-Friday: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. o Royal Palm Beach West Central Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center 9743 Weisman Way in Royal Palm Beach Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. o Lantana Central County Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center 1810 Lantana Road in Lantana Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. o Western Delray Beach Southwest County Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center 13400 South State Road 7 in Delray Beach Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. o Eastern Delray Beach South County Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center 1901 SW 4th Ave. in Delray Beach Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The SWA has achieved the highest recycling rate in the state for the past four years, as calculated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. In 2025, the recycling rate was 91 percent, preceded by 90 percent in 2024, 84 percent in 2023, and 80 percent in 2022. Palm Beach County’s residents, businesses, and visitors can help us remain a top recycler in Florida. Recycle right every day at home, work, school and play in Palm Beach County. The full list of accepted items in the SWA’s dual-stream curbside recycling program can be found online. Commercial interests can receive a free waste stream audit and technical support to help implement or improve their paper recycling programs. Complete a Business Recycling Request Form, and a member of the SWA’s Recycling Field Team will contact you.

This Election Session, The Palm Beach County Library System Makes Voter Registration Convenient & Easy

A visit to the Palm Beach County Library System can include more than picking up your latest read. As an authorized voter registration agency, the Library System provides members with convenient access to voter registration applications at all branch locations. The next time you visit your local branch, stop by the Member Services desk. While you check out your books, Library staff can provide a voter registration application to register to vote or update your existing voter registration information. Once completed, Library staff will make sure your application is delivered to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections. At any branch location, you can quickly: Register for the first time. Change your home address. Switch your political party affiliation. Update your legal name. Refresh your signature on file. Eligible Florida residents may register to vote at any time. The deadline to register to participate in an upcoming election is 29 days before the election. You are eligible to register to vote in Florida if: You are a citizen of the United States of America; You are a Florida resident; You are at least 18 years old (you may pre-register to vote at the age of 16, but you cannot vote until you are 18 years old); You have not been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state; and You have not been convicted of a felony or have been convicted of a felony and had your voting rights restored. Medicare Open Enrollment Is Coming: Free SHINE Workshops at Palm Beach County Libraries

With Medicare Open Enrollment approaching, the Palm Beach County Library System is helping residents prepare by bringing Medicare information and assistance directly into communities. Through a partnership with SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders), free Medicare workshops will be offered at branches of the Palm Beach County Library System. These sessions will give Medicare beneficiaries, families and caregivers an opportunity to better understand coverage options, navigate plan choices and make informed decisions before open enrollment begins on October 15. During the workshops, trained SHINE volunteers will explain Medicare coverage and plan options, answer questions and help participants compare choices. They will connect individuals with resources based on their needs. SHINE provides free, unbiased Medicare counseling and does not represent or sell insurance plans. To put Medicare enrollment in perspective, more than one in four Palm Beach County residents is age 65 or older. Strengthening Our Community Through Hurricane Preparedness

Robenson Duvelsaint of the Palm Beach Community Services Department’s Community Action Program joined residents, community partners, and emergency preparedness professionals at a hurricane preparedness event hosted by the Palm Beach County Office of Emergency Management at Royal Palm Beach Community High School on September 12, 2026. Focused on hurricane readiness, the event encouraged residents to take proactive steps to protect themselves, their families, and their homes before severe weather strikes. From early morning setup to meaningful conversations throughout the day, participating organizations demonstrated a shared commitment to building a safer, stronger, and more prepared Palm Beach County. The event brought together an impressive network of agencies and community partners, including NOAA, Generator Supercenter, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Legal Aid Society, the Palm Beach County Public Safety Department, Palm Beach County Fire Department, Palm Beach Community Services and Team Rubicon Disaster Response, among others. While attendance was modest, the residents who participated were engaged, informed, and eager to learn. Community members asked important questions, connected with local resources, and gained practical information to help them prepare for hurricane season. The Community Action Program also had the opportunity to connect residents with programs and services offered by Palm Beach County Community Services. Several attendees expressed interest in learning more about available resources and even volunteering with the department, an encouraging sign of growing community involvement. Events like this demonstrate the power of collaboration. By bringing residents together with trusted agencies, service providers, and emergency preparedness partners, Palm Beach County continues to strengthen its network of support and ensure that residents have access to the information and resources they need when it matters most.
