Lake County Sheriff's Office Enforces Zero-Tolerance Policy on Sexual Misconduct

The Lake County Sheriff's Office enforces a zero-tolerance policy on sexual assault, sexual abuse, and sexual harassment involving people in custody, complying with the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003.

All employees, contractors, and volunteers must follow the policy. The office investigates all reports with equal seriousness and has trained staff members on proper investigation and reporting procedures.

Reports can come from inmates, family members, friends, or the public. The Lake Family Resource Center accepts anonymous reports at 888-485-7733. Inmates can also report in person or in writing to any staff member at the Lake County Jail, or write to the Facility Captain or Watch Commander requesting confidentiality.

Members of the public can report misconduct in person at the Lake County Jail or call the Lake Family Resource Center anonymously.
