Astatula Drought Order: Watering Restricted to 1 Day/Week

Astatula residents can water their lawns only one day per week under a Phase III drought order issued by the St. Johns River Water Management District, down from two days previously.
Odd-numbered addresses may water Saturdays only. Even-numbered addresses get Sundays. Non-residential properties can irrigate only on Tuesdays. All watering is banned between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The restrictions take effect immediately. Mayor Zane Teeters Jr. said the order responds to ongoing drought conditions and strain on regional water supplies. Phase III represents the district's most severe water shortage level.
Residents who violate the schedule may face warnings or fines. The town will announce if restrictions change.
