LAKE ALFRED — Tampa Electric is hiring a Learning & Development Consultant based in Tampa to improve leadership effectiveness and organizational performance. The role will focus on designing, developing and managing learning solutions for the energy company.
The consultant will report to the Manager of Learning and Organizational Effectiveness. Responsibilities include collaborating with Human Resources leadership and business partners to identify training needs, create and deliver learning programs, and evaluate their outcomes. The consultant will manage assigned learning programs from planning through evaluation, ensuring alignment with company priorities and timely, in-scope delivery.
Key duties include managing recurring learning programs, developing program plans with timelines and resource needs, and coordinating internal partners, vendors and facilitators. The role also requires monitoring progress, managing changes, documenting decisions and providing status updates. The consultant will oversee program logistics, communications and materials to ensure a consistent participant experience. Additionally, the position involves maintaining cross-training for routine Learning Management System duties and gathering data and feedback to improve learning offerings.
The consultant will also conduct needs assessments, design programs and develop content for blended learning experiences, including eLearning, virtual sessions and in-person workshops. Staying current with leadership development trends and best practices in learning experience design is crucial. The role requires facilitating classroom and virtual training sessions, adapting delivery methods for diverse audiences and developing metrics to measure participant progress and training effectiveness. Tampa Electric, a subsidiary of Emera Inc., serves approximately 780,000 customers across West Central Florida.
