The New Mexico Gas Company is hiring engineers for its District Engineering department in Albuquerque. The application period for Engineer I, II, and III positions closes Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026.
The company seeks experienced engineering professionals to support its operations. Salaries range from $73,440 to $91,800 for Engineer I, $88,640 to $110,800 for Engineer II, and $104,960 to $131,200 for Engineer III. Compensation depends on the candidate's skills, experience, and education.
Engineers will evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, provide expertise for intermediate projects, and offer technical support. Responsibilities include conducting studies for performance, cost, and scheduling, directing contractors and staff, managing project financials, and communicating project status to diverse audiences. Engineer II and III roles have additional duties.
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering program (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Metallurgy/Material Science, Electrical, or Construction Engineering) and a valid driver's license. Engineer I requires a Bachelor's degree within three months of hire and a preferred Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification. Engineer II needs two years of experience (or one with a Master's) and an FE certification. Engineer III requires five years of experience (or three with a Master's) and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Construction or utility experience is preferred.
