Peoples Gas Seeks Regulatory Analyst in Tampa

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. – Peoples Gas System is hiring a Regulatory Rate Analyst for its Regulatory Affairs team in Tampa. The full-time position operates on an 8-hour shift, five days a week.

The role requires analytical skills and attention to detail from candidates interested in how utility rates, regulatory policy and business strategy affect customers. The analyst will conduct financial, regulatory and analytical work to support key regulatory filings, rate proceedings, cost recovery mechanisms and strategic business decisions.

The analyst will develop expertise in utility regulation, rate design, economics, financial analysis and regulatory strategy. This role involves collaboration with organizational leaders and direct engagement with regulatory agencies, legal counsel and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance and support affordable, reliable natural gas service.

Key responsibilities include analyzing data and researching information for regulatory filings, presentations and reports. The analyst will also examine financial, operational and regulatory information to support filings and business recommendations, and produce reports for leadership.

The position includes assisting in preparing rate increase petitions, cost recovery filings, true-up filings, rider and clause filings, and other regulatory submissions. The analyst will develop supporting schedules, data analysis and documentation.

The analyst will also help prepare responses to data requests, interrogatories, audit requests and discovery requests. They will support the preparation of testimony and regulatory documentation, and coordinate with legal counsel and business experts during regulatory proceedings.

The analyst will research Florida and national regulatory trends, policies, tariffs and industry developments. This includes evaluating regulatory impacts and opportunities, analyzing utility rate structures, benchmarking utility practices and providing management with recommendations and strategic insights.

Peoples Gas System is considering candidates for both Regulatory Rate Analyst and Senior Regulatory Analyst levels, depending on qualifications and experience.
