LAKE ALFRED, FL – A Measurement Engineer position is currently open at a local utility. The role is open to both internal and external candidates.

The position is critical for ensuring the accurate measurement and accounting of natural gas across the utility's distribution and transmission systems. The role offers multiple levels: Engineer I ($73,440-$91,800), Engineer II ($88,640-$110,800), and Engineer III ($104,960-$131,200). Placement depends on the candidate's skills, experience, and education.

The Measurement Engineer will design, install, maintain, and calibrate metering equipment. This includes pressure regulators, actuated valves, automation and SCADA systems, odorization equipment, flow meters, and instruments like gas chromatographs. The engineer will analyze data to ensure billing accuracy, support regulatory compliance, and optimize system performance.

Key duties include troubleshooting measurement issues, leading system upgrade projects, and collaborating with operations teams, field technicians, and regulatory bodies. The engineer will provide expertise for projects, offer technical support, and conduct studies evaluating performance, cost, and scheduling.

Candidates need a Bachelor's or advanced degree from an ABET-accredited program in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Metallurgy/Materials Science, Electrical, or Construction Engineering. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are also required.
