Skanska, a global construction firm, secured an additional $60 million contract with Lee Health for ongoing work at its new Fort Myers medical campus. The expanded contract covers interior build-out finishes and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the west bed tower expansion at the 53-acre campus.

The project, located at Colonial and Challenger boulevards, aims to replace the aging Lee Memorial Hospital. Construction on the Fort Myers medical campus began in June 2024 and is projected to conclude in May 2028.

Once completed, the campus will feature a five-story, 416,000-square-foot hospital for healthcare and office use. It will also include a 125,000-square-foot medical office building housing an ambulatory surgery center and the Lee Health Musculoskeletal Institute.
