Key Biscayne residents are reminded that Sept. 10 marks the statistical peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. The town encourages households to review hurricane preparedness plans and take proactive steps to ensure they are ready for potential impacts.

Safety tips include reviewing insurance coverage, trimming trees and vegetation away from power lines, and checking that emergency supply kits are fully stocked. Local officials recommend testing generators, securing homes by checking shutters and windows, and keeping storm drains clear to prevent flooding.

The town reiterates the safety message: "Turn Around, Don’t Drown" – never drive through flooded streets.
