A team of second graders from Glenmont Elementary School has qualified for the NYS Math Tournament, sponsored by the New York State Education Department and First in Math. Congratulations to Breanna L., Zephyra M., and Oliver D., who are pictured above. “Qualifying is quite an accomplishment,” said Principal Laura Heffernan. “There are only 10 qualifying teams for each grade level from across the state. “Glenmont School has had a team participate since First in Math started the tournament four years ago,” said Principal Heffernan. “This is Breanna and Zephyra’s second time qualifying for the state competition.” The team earned the school a $1,000 prize and a plaque, and the students each received a trophy. The statewide competition will be held  in Albany on June 13. We wish them the best of luck!
