Trump Endorses Challengers to Kentucky, Indiana Republicans
Former President Donald Trump has publicly endorsed candidates challenging Republican incumbents in upcoming primary elections in Kentucky and Indiana.
In Kentucky, Trump endorsed Derrick Anderson, who is running against U.S. Representative Andy Barr. Barr was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2012.
In Indiana, Trump endorsed U.S. Representative Jim Banks to represent Indiana in the U.S. Senate. Banks is competing against state representative Jim Lucas. Senator Mike Braun is vacating that Senate seat to run for governor of Indiana.
Representative Barr voted in favor of certifying the 2020 presidential election results, which Trump continues to dispute. Representative Banks has been a vocal supporter of Trump. Lucas, who has served in the Indiana House since 2012, also supports Trump.
