A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Salt Lake City for Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, Central Mountains, Sevier Valley, Upper Sevier River Valleys, and Bryce Canyon Country. The advisory is effective immediately, October 11, at 7:57 AM MDT, and will remain in effect until 6:00 AM MDT on Monday, October 12.
Residents in these areas should prepare for south winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 mph. In the Central Mountains, gusts could be as high as 65 mph. These strong winds may blow around unsecured objects, and isolated power outages are possible.
The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles and those towing trailers. Drivers are urged to use extra caution when traveling. Secure any loose outdoor items to prevent them from becoming airborne.
