Mary E. Shepherd, 79, Beloit
Mary E. Shepherd 79, of Beloit, WI, passed away on May 27, 2026 peacefully in her home.She was born on December 27, 1946 in Boscobel, WI, the daughter of Robert and Lillian (Zitka) Seeley. Mary was a graduate of Gays Mills High School. She married Walter D. Shepherd on August 15, 1964 in McGregor, IA. He predeceased her on May 4, 2016.Mary was formerly employed by Shepherds Day Care, providing care and compassion in child care, and for others is something she enjoyed doing over the years. She was an active volunteer with the Beloit Health System and Beloit Regional Hospice, Women’s Abuse Shelter and Special Olympics. Mary was a member of Central Christian Church.Survivors include her sons, JR. Shepherd and Robert L. Shepherd; grandchildren; Patrick, Felicia, April, Jade, Emily, Leah, Samuel, Joseph, Tyler, Heather, Jeremy and Teuren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Charles R. (Jenny) Seeley; son-in-law, Pat King and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Patti King; brother, Thomas L. Seeley; granddaughter, Eve; grandson, RonnieA memorial service for Mary will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 in Central Christian Church 2460 Milwaukee Rd, Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service in the church.
