TV Stations / Video Services York County Video Services is responsible for the management and broadcast of WYCG-TV, the County’s high-definition consolidated local government access channel. Airing on Cox Channel 86 and Verizon Channel 2138, WYCG-TV features locally produced programs that highlight York County services, events, initiatives and alerts, along with regional content of interest. The channel also provides live coverage and replays of York County Board of Supervisors, York County School Board and York County Planning Commission meetings, in addition to timely program information announcements from around the County.

Unknown County Sheriff's Office Continues DARE Program in Local Schools

The Unknown County Sheriff's Office offers the internationally recognized DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program to students in our community. DARE is a comprehensive substance abuse prevention education program taught by specially trained Deputies in local schools. This program educates students on the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and violence. DARE equips elementary and middle school students with the knowledge and skills to make healthy and responsible choices.

Horry County Mosquito Control will be conducting aerial spraying Wednesday, September 23, 2026, as long as the weather permits. Spraying will start 2 hours prior to sunset and continue for 2 hours after sunset. Spraying locations on this flight include: Lucas Bay Rd. Henrietta Bluffs Rd. Landing Rd. Reba Rd. In the event of rain, the spraying will be rescheduled to Friday, September 25, 2026. This event will be in addition to the aerial spraying that is happening on Monday, September 21, 2026. The chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are approved by the EPA and SCDPR , they pose minimal risk to humans or animals. Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illnesses may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying. In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating. To help keep our local honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies. You can submit the location of your hive(s) online: https://www.horrycountysc.gov/departments/stormwater/no-spray-request/ Beehive owners are asked to check the aerial map daily, as the map will change. Notice of Municipal Election 2025 City of Orangeburg Elections Schedule Notice is hereby given that the Municipal Election for the City of Orangeburg will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The purpose of this election will be to elect the Mayor and City Council Districts: District 1, District 3, and District 5 to serve a four (4) year term as required by law. The filing period will begin on June 23, 2025, at 12:00 noon and close on July 14, 2025, at 12:00 noon. All candidates must file a Statement of Candidacy with the City Clerk of the City of Orangeburg during regular business hours located at 979 Middleton Street, Orangeburg, SC. The filing fee is $500.00 for Mayor and $150.00 for a City Council. An indigent person may file without the fee if the Statement of Candidacy is accompanied by a notarized affidavit establishing indigent status. A candidate filing for a seat on City Council must be a registered voter residing in the district for which he or she files at the time of filing. The Statement of Economic Interest Form must be filed online with the State Ethics Commission, pursuant to The Equal Access to the Ballot Act (effective July 3, 2013). A candidate is no longer required to file a paper copy of his/her Statement of Economic Interest (SEI) form with the City Clerk when the resident files to become a candidate in an election. A candidate must still file an SEI Form and Campaign Disclosure Form with the State Ethics Commission online (http://ethics.sc.gov). Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than August 9, 2025. The polls shall be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the locations designated below.
