St. Johns Riverkeeper Seeks New Leader as Rinaman to Exit in 2027

JACKSONVILLE – St. Johns Riverkeeper has opened applications for a new executive director. The search follows current director Lisa Rinaman’s announcement that she will step down in spring 2027 after 14 years leading the environmental advocacy group.

Rinaman will continue in her role until her departure, facilitating a smooth transition. She has led the organization since 2012, becoming its third executive director.

“We are grateful for Lisa’s many years of outstanding service and commitment to this organization and our St. Johns River,” said Jimmy Orth, St. Johns Riverkeeper Executive Director. “We are confident we will find a dynamic individual who will continue to successfully provide our river with a powerful voice and advocate and build on the strong foundation Lisa helped to build.”

The nonprofit seeks candidates with expertise in environmental science and policy, strategic planning, and public relations and communications. St. Johns Riverkeeper focuses on issues impacting the river's health, including enforcing protective rules and regulations, holding polluters accountable, and addressing imminent and emerging threats.
