GATE River Run 50th Anniversary Logo Unveiled in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE — The GATE River Run, Jacksonville's largest 15K road race, has unveiled its logo for the upcoming 50th anniversary celebration. Lauren Waller, founder and designer of Inkling Creative, created the commemorative design, which local runners selected through a vote.

The logo prominently features the Hart Bridge, a key landmark on the race's route. The roadway leading to the bridge forms a '5,' and the bridge's arch creates a '0' for the 50th milestone. The design also includes iconic elements of the Jacksonville skyline viewed from the riverfront, and the St. Johns River, symbolizing the race's connection to the city.

Waller drew inspiration from her father-in-law, John Waller, a participant who encouraged her to enter the contest. John Waller is one of 17 individuals who have completed every GATE River Run since its 1978 inception, earning them the title of "streakers." He completed the race in a wheelchair after breaking his femur.

The GATE River Run, the largest 15K road race in the United States, will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, March 6, 2027. Registration opens October 1, 2026.
