Help Support Whispering Pines Park!

Whispering Pines Park has long been a community landmark, welcoming generations of residents and visitors for youth sports, family outings, outdoor recreation, and community programs. While the City of Inverness operates and maintains the park, the land is owned by the State of Florida and leased to the City. The City of Inverness is pursuing a local legislative bill to transfer ownership of the park from the State to the City of Inverness. This would provide greater certainty for long-term planning, help protect public investment, and expand opportunities to pursue future park improvements. Why does ownership matter? City ownership would help protect public investment in the park and put Inverness in a stronger position to pursue grants and other funding opportunities for aging facilities and future improvements.
