Humboldt, Iowa marshland
This is marshland in north Humboldt, Iowa. Historically, the land was formerly the bed for the Des Moines River, but the river has since moved. The marshland was viewed by Stephen H. Taft, who decided the land was beautiful and established the town in 1863.
