Sheridan Street Bridge Raised in Broward County
Broward County will raise the Sheridan Street Bridge over Florida's Turnpike by two feet, increasing its vertical clearance to 16'-6". The project aims to reduce vehicle collisions and structural damage to the bridge, which carries significant local traffic.
Structural Technologies will perform the work. Construction will proceed in phases with temporary lane closures, nightly traffic diversions, and overnight work on both Sheridan Street and the Turnpike. Pedestrians should expect detours during the project period.
County officials say access to local businesses and residences will remain open. Residents can find the construction schedule and project details on the Sheridan Street Bridge Project Information page.
