The City of Hollywood is developing its first Public Art Master Plan to guide where public art gets commissioned and installed across the city.
The Broward County Cultural Division is supporting the effort. The plan will establish priorities for public art in Hollywood's beaches, parks, residential areas, transit corridors, and downtown district. It will also determine what local stories and identities the art should reflect and how artists and residents can participate in the selection process.
Public art could include sculptures, murals, interactive installations, and pieces integrated into buildings and streetscapes. The city plans to use the master plan to make public art a deliberate part of Hollywood's identity.
The city is accepting community input through its project webpage, which will host surveys, presentations, and updates. More information on Hollywood's existing Art in Public Places Program is available on the city's website.
