Hollywood Forges Sister City Alliance with Uzbekistan's Nurafshon, Fostering Trade and Cultural Exchange

Hollywood recently established a new international partnership, signing a Sister Cities Agreement with Nurafshon, the capital of Uzbekistan's Tashkent Region. The agreement aims to foster trade, education, innovation, and cultural exchange between the two cities.

The City of Hollywood hosted a delegation from Uzbekistan at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. Zoyir T. Mirzaev, Governor of the Tashkent Region, led the delegation. Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy, Commissioner Peter Hernandez, and Commissioner Kevin Biederman represented the City of Hollywood. Members of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Sister Cities Advisory Board also participated in the meeting.

This new partnership provides opportunities for local businesses, educational institutions, and residents to engage in international collaboration. The agreement focuses on mutual benefits in economic development and cultural understanding.

The Sister Cities program encourages connections between communities worldwide. Hollywood's new alliance with Nurafshon expands its global reach and promotes cross-cultural learning. Commissioner Peter Hernandez serves as the liaison to the Hollywood Sister Cities Advisory Board.
