Hollywood Academy Arts & Science Hosts Open House Events

Parents and guardians connected with teachers and learned about the upcoming academic year during a series of open house events at the Hollywood Academy of Arts & Science in September. The school hosted separate evenings for different grade levels to allow for focused engagement.

The open house events, held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., aimed to build a strong partnership between the school and families. Attendees visited classrooms, received an overview of academic expectations, and learned about classroom behavior and discipline policies. The sessions offered a glimpse into students' daily schedules and learning environments.

Specific grade levels attended on designated dates: Grades 1, 4, and 6 on Sept. 14; Kindergarten, Grade 3, and Grade 8 on Sept. 15; and Grades 2, 5, and 7 on Sept. 17.

Beyond classroom visits, the open houses provided a platform for parents to establish communication methods with teachers, such as newsletters and homework schedules. Parents also networked with other families and learned about volunteer opportunities, including participation in parent action teams focused on school safety, improvement, and events. Following the open house sessions, a book fair was available from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
