Presley Gerber Death Investigated as Suspected Overdose in Santa Monica

Santa Monica, Calif. – Police are investigating the death of model Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, as a suspected overdose. Gerber, 27, died Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner's office. The Santa Monica Police Department reported Monday that no foul play was evident in Gerber's death. The medical examiner's office is in the early stages of its investigation. A deputy medical examiner examined Gerber on Monday but deferred ruling on the cause and manner of death, pending further testing.

Sources close to the case stated Gerber had checked into a rehabilitation center the day before he was found unresponsive Sunday morning. The medical examiner pronounced him dead at 9:45 a.m. His body is expected to be released to his family.

Presley Gerber, whose sister is model and actress Kaia Gerber, began his modeling career at 15 with IMG Models. He walked runways for designers including Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana and appeared in campaigns for Calvin Klein and Celine. Gerber had spoken openly about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, discussing his treatment following a 2019 DUI charge and launching a video series titled "Mental Health Mondays" in 2024.
