VERNON, Ind. – A 67-year-old woman faces charges after allegedly performing "donuts" on the Jennings County Courthouse lawn Monday. The Jennings County Sheriff's Office released video showing a silver sedan spinning on the grass, kicking up dirt and striking a sign. The vehicle narrowly missed a tree, a light post and a brick bench.

Lorraine Phyllis Wilkerson is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, according to booking records.

The sheriff's office posted the video to social media, urging responsible behavior: "If you’ve had a few too many margaritas with dinner, please don’t get behind the wheel, and definitely don’t do donuts on the courthouse lawn." The office reiterated its commitment to public safety, encouraging safe ride arrangements for those who have been drinking.
