Hernando Parks Get LED Lights in $3.97M Upgrade
Greenbrook and Snowden Grove parks will convert their athletic field lighting to LED technology beginning in early July under a $3.97 million project funded by the Mississippi Development Authority Energy Efficiency Program.
The city will install Musco Light-Structure Systems with LED Total Light Control at both parks, directing light onto playing fields while reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs. Work should finish by September 1, before fall sports seasons begin.
The LED conversion will lower the city's energy expenses and carbon footprint. Both parks host year-round youth athletic programs and draw visiting teams for tournaments and competitions.
