Citizen Self Service is designed specifically for the development community of New Smyrna Beach. The City of New Smyrna Beach's Building Department strives to promote development within the City of New Smyrna Beach consistent with established policies and ordinances. We have implemented many processes and procedures to better serve our community by offering you less time in the permit line and more time at job sites. We hope you find this new technology helpful and convenient. The process is fast, easy and can be completed from the comfort of your office. You need a valid email address and credit card to complete permits. Once your permit is approved, you will receive an email confirming its approval and the fee associated with the permit. In addition to applying for permits, you can submit plans for plan review, schedule inspections, check inspection results, pay fees, renew business licenses and check status of an application.This online service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This registration will function as “pre-qualification” to perform private provider plan review and/or inspections in this jurisdiction. The registration process is available online, accessible to the private provider firm and contains license and insurance information. There is no cost or fee for the registration.What must be provided at registration?The licensed engineer(s), architect(s), or building code administrator(s) information and who will act as the private provider or duly authorized representative (the qualifier).The identification and copy of license information of service providers such as license type and number for each inspector and/or plans examiner performing work in the City.Proof of required professional liability insurance listing the City as a Certificate HolderOnce registered, qualification verification is complete unless information changes. It is the responsibility of the private provider firm to maintain their own registry, insurance updates, employee roles and license information in the timelines provided by the Florida Statute. The private provider shall make the City aware of any changes per electronic correspondence within the timelines established by the Florida Statute.The online service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
