July 1st BOAA Meeting Variance - 168 Oak Grove Street
The Board of Adjustments and Appeals of the City of Ormond Beach, Florida, pursuant to the City's Land Development Code, will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, 22 South Beach Street, Ormond Beach, Florida, for the purpose of hearing all parties in interest and to consider and act upon the application of Amanda Sabin, property owner of 168 Oak Grove Street. The subject property is in the R-2.5, Single-Family Low-Medium Density zoning district. The applicant is requesting a street side/corner yard variance and front yard variance to allow construction of a pool and pool deck. Section 2-14(B)(9)(d) of the Land Development Code requires a street side/corner yard setback of 20 feet. The applicant is requesting a variance of 10 feet to the required street side/corner yard setback of 20 feet for a final street side/corner yard setback of 10 feet. Additionally, Section 2-14(B)(9)(a) requires a front yard setback of 30 feet. The applicant is requesting a variance of 0.3 feet for a final front yard setback of 29.7 feet in order to install a pool with a deck in the street/side corner yard.
July 1st BOAA Meeting Variance - 19 Dormer Drive
The Board of Adjustments and Appeals of the City of Ormond Beach, Florida, pursuant to the City's Land Development Code, will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the City Commission Chambers at the Ormond Beach City Hall, 22 South Beach Street, Ormond Beach, Florida, for the purpose of hearing all parties in interest and to consider and act upon the application of Wayne and Marissa Smith, property owners of 19 Dormer Drive, for two variances related to the construction of a hard-roof open-patio on the rear of the property. The property at 19 Dormer Drive is in the SR, Suburban Residential zoning district and within the Deer Creek, Phase 1, of Hunters Ridge Subdivision. Section 2-11(B)(9)(b) of the Land Development Code requires a rear yard setback of 20 feet. The subdivision plat requires a side yard setback of 10 feet. The applicant is requesting a rear yard setback of 7.5 feet to the columns and 5 feet to the roof overhang, requiring a minimum rear yard variance of 15 feet. Additionally, the applicant is requesting a side yard setback of 7.5 feet to the columns and 5 feet to the roof overhang, requiring a minimum variance of 5 feet to construct a hard-roof open-patio on the rear of the home.
June 24th Ormond Beach Arts District Board Meeting
The Ormond Beach Arts District Board will hold a Public Hearing at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in the City of Ormond Beach Conference Room 103, City Hall, 22 South Beach Street, Ormond Beach, Florida, to consider a request to extend the Seward Johnson Sculpture Tour from June 15, 2026, to January 10, 2027, within the Downtown Community Redevelopment Area. The application seeks to allow a timeframe extension of life size sculptures temporarily within the Ormond Beach Downtown area. The application is being processed under Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances, Public arts program in the Downtown Overlay District.
